Passion for the preservation of the Earth runs deep here. It is difficult for us modern humans to escape the harmful consumerism of our modern life, but we try our best to keep products from landfills, make sustainable items, use recycled and natural materials (either directly or through post-consumer means), as well as make donations to conservation funds. Our journal covers are made from second-hand fabrics, leathers, and eco-friendly fabrics that will naturally decompose if exposed to the elements. The only petroleum-based fabrics used are second-hand and have interesting textures or colors. Pages and signatures are made from plant-dyed recycled paper, vintage book pages (these books would find their way to landfills if we didn't use them--you're giving them new life in your art♥), and other interesting recycled materials. Not everything is recycled or sustainable, but we strive for at the very least 50% sustainable materials in each order.
Any paper-ephemera-only orders (like sticker sheets and other flat items), we save you shipping costs and heft in postal trucks by using standard envelopes. Other practices involve directly recycling packaging. This may not be the prettiest parcel on the outside, but we take extra care on product packaging to
try to make up for it ;)
New mailer envelopes are recyclable and made from recycled materials.
The companies with whom we partner have products that are also on the sustainable side, and for those of us in North America, manufacture our products locally. The primary exception to sustainability in partnered products is transparent PET tape. We're of the opinion that we do our best, but there is little harm in choosing just the right product for your art.
Sometimes you need a transparent sticker and that's okay ♥
